Swim: Swim Smooth

It seems as though the majority of triathletes are either glorified duathletes who suffer through the swim, or, are glorified duathletes who suffer through the swim. I think most will readily agree, however, that the excitement incited by triathlon would not be the same without the thrill of open water and the wettest discipline is deserving of greater attention.
The triathlete interested in improving the swim can then direct his/her attentions to Mr. Smooth, the iconic animated figure and star of swimsmooth.com. The Mr. Smooth console, according to the website, is designed to facilitate viewing, "Mr. Smooth's ideal stroke from any angle, at any speed, in amazing clarity."

Though the website doesn't mention whether Mr. Smooth says all the right words to the ladies, his never ending quest to reach the left side of your screen can certainly assist the introspective swimmer. Though he isn't perfectly tuned to the demands of open water swimming, my personal philosophy dictates improving in each discipline of triathlon in addition to the overall sport and in this goal Mr. Smooth agrees readily.
As a plus, Paul Newsome, one of the founders of the site, is very friendly and makes himself available to answer questions. The site also has additional information specific to swimmers of different levels, while offering clinics (in Canada, the US, and the UK) and a forum.
