Athlete Profile: Craig Alexander

Alexander the Great on the Queen K

Craig Alexander is triathlon's equivalent of a perfect storm. Though irrefutably a complete triathlete, with an exception swim/bike combo, Alexander is renowned for unleashing his trademark run speed to devastating effect. This was most poignantly accomplished at the 2008 Ironman World Championships, where a 2:45:01 marathon saw him as the first to run down the infamous finisher's chute.
Yet not only is Crowie, as he's affectionately known, a top-contender out on the course, he is also a very gracious winner, dedicated father, and all around 'excellent bloke.' More keen to give praise to his loving wife and young daughter than to his own extensive palmares, Alexander is as respected for his personality as he is for his abilities.
Check out his website, which contains video, race results, an image gallery, sponsor info, and an insightful blog.
In addition, here is just one of many incredible stories that demonstrates Alexander's talent.
